Bristol Eye Hospital Assessment Clinic opens!

We’re delighted to welcome the Bristol Eye Hospital Assessment Clinic to the top floor of The Galleries. This service enables the timely assessment and treatment for Bristol Eye Hospital patients. Initially located at The Nuffield, it then moved to the Bristol Nightingale before being located at the Education and Research Centre near the Bristol Royal Infirmary. We are delighted that this clinic is now opening at The Galleries, which has many benefits for patients, including excellent transport links and superb accessibility for all service users.

The assessment service has seen over 30,000 patients and was a finalist in the 2022 NHS Parliamentary Awards. Patient feedback has been extremely positive: 98% of patients rated the service as good to excellent. The service enables the timely assessment and treatment of patients with a range of eye conditions. During the clinics patients undergo a range of diagnostic tests on their eyes, including complex images, which leads to appropriate treatments being prescribed or confirming that the correct action is being taken to prevent further eyesight deterioration.
